Graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Paris where he obtained first prize in percussion and chamber music, in 1992.
He then toured with the Ensemble Intercontemporain under the direction of Pierre Boulez and participated in the premier of a work by Stockhausen.
In 1993, he decides to devote himself to jazz, his long time passion. Since then, he has played with many groups such as Jacky Terrasson, Bojan Zulfikarpasic, Michel Portal,…
As of 1994, a partner of Louis Sclavis in trio with Bruno Chevillon, he also plays with his own group.
