Introduction

The Chapelle Rhénane ensemble is specialised in “border” music of French or German origin. It has based its repertoire on Schütz, and today is looking to include later composers, especially the emblematic Johannes Sebastian Bach. Benoît Haller wishes to propose training in interpreting repertoires close to the source and formats that would have been most frequently used: soloist arias, soloist choirs, small vocal ensembles, reduced instrumentation etc. This is aimed at training young singers in Bach’s sacred repertoires, composed for solo singers and vocal ensembles (1 per voice) as well as leader singers in accompanying and preparing vocal work for singers in baroque repertoires.
