Status

Created in 1964, the Royaumont Foundation (Fondation Goüin-Lang pour le Progrès des Sciences de l'Homme) owns the monument which it occupies.

The Abbey was listed as a historic landmark in 1927, the park in 1948.

Construction materials: limestone, tiles

Land excluding buildings: 6.5 hectares (20 hectares including the land not belonging to the Foundation)

Floor area: 16,500 m2

Area of refurbished ruins: nil

Area of non-refurbished ruins: 2,500 m2 (Abbey church)

Surface area of modern building: 300 m2 (reception area)

 


The team

 

In 2005, the Foundation had 60 permanent employees and a large number of temporary and seasonal staff members.

 


Capital investment budget

Total capital investment since 1977:

18 million euros (i.e. 5.3 million euros to restore the monument, 12.7 million euros for equipment and development).

77% of this amount was spent over the last 10 years.
