Mary Wigman (1886 - 1973)
Graduated from the school of Emile Jacques-Dalcroze, she becomes the student and then the collaborator of Rudolf von Laban, father of expressive dance.
As of 1919, she develops her own dance in which she captures the essence of the human being subjugated to the cycle of life and death in his time.
A great teacher, with a school in Dresden and then in Berlin, and an overwhelming dancer in which the expression of the individual demands a dance of the absolute.
Dore Hoyer (1911 - 1967)
She studies with Dalcroze and then with Gret Palucca and dances in Mary Wigman's company in the 30's and the 50's.
A unique soloist of an extreme intensity, Hoyer is affiliated with the Ausdrukstanz.
Mary Wigman and Dore Hoyer's works were part of the programme of the Repertory Workshop 2005, directed by Susanne Linke.
