The spirit of corporate patronage at the Royaumont Foundation

Establishing links between the Foundation and the business world is part of Royaumont's tradition and philosophy. With its origins in the initiative taken by Henry and Isabel Goüin, art patrons from a family of industrialists, the Royaumont Foundation owes its existence to private-sector patronage. Its development today is largely based on the involvement of businesses in the cultural programmes it offers.

Corporate patronage is the culmination of these links with the world of business. The goal of patronage at Royaumont is to develop the Foundation and its outreach to new audiences. It reflects the ability of a creative project of high artistic quality to be part of the economy of its time.

Royaumont's approach to patronage is that of a genuine partnership, through which companies can make Royaumont a part of their strategy. As both an external and an internal communications tool, the partnership is a reflection of the corporate citizenship values of companies wishing to invest in their economic and social environment and to pass on these values to their employees.

Benefits offered to patrons

Depending on the strategic objectives of the partner company and its level of support, Royaumont can offer different types of benefits to patrons:

› Mention of patronage on communications materials

› Special access to Royaumont guest facilities

- Possibility of organising business breakfasts and lunches with customers, partners or prospective customers in a private dining room

- Provision, once a year, free of charge, of a meeting room during a residential seminar or symposium

- Provision, once a year, of one of the two abbey rooms made available for special events - the former refectory or the former kitchens - for a dinner or cocktail party

› Special access to the historic monument for the staff of the patron company

- Complimentary visitor admission to the abbey for all company staff

- Discounts in the Royaumont bookstore: 5% on all books and 10% on CDs, gifts and other articles

› Invitations for customers and employees to Music Season concerts

- Standing invitation to Music Season concerts for patrons

- Free invitations to patron-supported concerts

- Organisation of private cultural and artistic events for the patron

- Assistance in organising public relations tailored to the company's strategy (dinners, meetings with artists, cocktail parties, etc.)

- Organisation of exclusive private thematic tours of the historic monument.

The Law of 1 August 2003 on the reform of patronage facilitates corporate patronage by doubling tax deductions (to 60% of the amount of the donation) available to companies.
