Louise Acabo<\/strong> harpsichordist<\/p>

A “national treasure”! This is the title given by the Republic to the harpsichord made in 1732 by Antoine Vater and now religiously preserved in the Music Museum of the Philharmonie de Paris. This two-manual instrument, with two 8-foot stops and one 4-foot stop, is indeed emblematic of its time, that of Antonio Vivaldi and Johann Sebastian Bach, or, in France, of Jean-Philippe Rameau and François Couperin. To be able to hear this instrument sound again, the Royaumont Foundation – with the support of the companies in the Henry Goüin Committee – has commissioned an exact copy from Emile Jobin,<\/a> one of the pioneers of the rediscovery of the harpsichord in France. It is on this instrument that the young laureates of the Foundation can train. It is around these bright red panels that Louise Acabo – a promising young performer, laureate of the Foundation, who is currently completing her studies at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris – invites you to settle down and listen to a selection of great baroque and classical arias.

Louise Acabo began playing the harpsichord even earlier, at the age of 7, with Aline Zylberajch at the CRR in Strasbourg, where she received her harpsichord prize with unanimous jury approval in 2016, as well as a chamber music prize. During her early music courses, she has benefited from the teaching of Skip Sempé, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Jean-Luc Ho, Bertrand Cuiller, Francesco Corti, Françoise Marmin, Andrea Marcon, Maude Gratton, Noëlle Spieth, Benjamin Alard, Carole Cerasi and Béatrice Martin. At the age of 18, she began a Bachelor’s degree at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in the class of Jörg Andreas Bötticher. A year later, she won first prize in the Corneille Competition, the first international harpsichord competition in France. She is regularly invited to perform at festivals such as the Utrecht Early Music Festival, where she was described by the newspaper El País as “the best surprise of the week and the latest gem in the inexhaustible French career of great harpsichordists (…)”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
