Air de cour

From its emergence in the last decades of the ^16th century, under the reign of the last Valois, to its mutation at the end of the Grand Siècle, the air de cour is one of the emblematic genres of early Baroque French music. It bears witness to both a domestic practice and a learned art. The “Air de Cour” workshop offered by the Royaumont Foundation and supervised by the musicians of Le Poème Harmonique conducted by Vincent Dumestre, is aimed at young musicians – singers and instrumentalists – eager to take a fresh look at this abundant repertoire where music and poetry meet.
