An evening dedicated to the arts

In an increasingly fragmented world, Royaumont Abbey remains a rare place, devoted to thought, creation, and beauty. The success of our current Season reflects the public’s deep connection to our programming, and the enduring need to gather, throughout the year, in this timeless setting.

The 2026–2027 Season will carry that momentum forward. From September through June, every Sunday, hundreds of artists will perform at the Abbey and share work developed through residencies within our centuries-old walls. Whether beloved repertory masterpieces or contemporary creations, each event will express a distinctive identity, grounded in a shared commitment: excellence, innovation, and accessibility.

This Season will also feature a series of talks in the humanities, open to all. Inaugurated in November by historian Patrick Boucheron, it will bring together leading scholars alongside figures from the worlds of business and politics, with the ambition of setting knowledge in conversation with the great challenges of our time.

To sustain this vitality, your support is essential. The generosity of our donors enables a distinctive model that funds more than half of our artistic and scientific activity. Your support gives life to new works and sees that knowledge is passed on and shared with everyone.

To celebrate these ambitions, this year’s annual gala will be a particularly luminous occasion. In the warm and intimate atmosphere of the Abbey, several generations of artists will honor us with their presence: mezzo-soprano Stéphanie d’Oustrac, one of the great Carmens of our time, accompanied by Edwige Herchenroder; violinist Sophie de Bardonnèche and harpsichordist Justin Taylor, who are captivating audiences on stages around the world with their ensemble Le Consort; and the duo recently formed at Royaumont, baritone Joël Terrin and pianist Anni Laukkanen.

Together, in a spirit of warmth and shared purpose, we will make this unique place thrive and shine.
